Snow Plowing Operations - Saturday, Feb 5, 2010
Snow Plowing Operations for Weekend of February 5, 2010
FORECASTS ARE CALLING FOR POTENTIALLY TWO (2) LARGE SNOW STORMS IN THE NEXT 7 DAYS. THIS COULD BE AN UNPRECEDENTED SITUATION AND WE NEED TO BE PREPARED.
It would be very very helpful if ALL cars in the single family sections parked in their driveways and garages to allow efficient plowing operations. The HOA plows snow in the “drive lanes only” after 2 inches accumulation. A foot or more of snow makes for a very difficult situation.
The plows will definitely mound snow behind cars. The mounding could occur several times as owners and plow drivers work to clear spaces and the drive-lanes, especially in the early stages of the work. Patience is critical. When the storm ends, vehicle owners in the townhome sections are best advised to clear the snow-mound behind their car, back out and then clear the entire space, placing snow on the grass.
If the snows are extensive (which it certainly appears they will be), we will schedule use of heavy equipment. Management has approved “heavy” equipment use in your community. All that can be done is in the works. Management will stay in contact with the snowplow contractor.
Please get as many cars as possible onto driveways and off the streets. This type of event will require participation by residents to clear sidewalks and parking spaces. If a section of a neighborhood rallies and gets cars out of the way, sometimes the plows can actually clear a run of spaces. We will endeavor to clear as much snow as possible as soon as possible.
Reston Bible Church
Reston Bible Church Construction
As many of you are aware, the construction on the new Reston Bible Church has begun behind Paddington Station Square.
The church is holding a town-hall style meeting to meet their new neighbors on Wednesday, August 19th from 7pm to 9pm. Please plan on attending this meeting if you are concerned about the recent development or would like more information on what is being built.
For all those interested, there is a county building plat available. It is necessary to print out and tape together the plat in order to accurate see where the new church and associated buildings will be.
2009 Annual Meeting
2009 Annual Meeting
The 2009 Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009. At this time, elections will be held for the one open Board of Directors seat.
All candidates interested in running for this seat must complete the registration form by Friday, August 21, 2009. Once complete, candidate profiles will be sent to the community so that proxies may be gathered and the community made aware of the possible candidates.
We must have quorum in order to elect a new officer. In order to meet quorum the annual meeting needs to have 50 representatives present or at least 50 proxies signed by residents and returned. Proxies will be availabe via the mail and at the End of Year Picnic on September 12, 2009.

Please Watch Your Speed!
School is in session and school buses are in the neighborhood during the week. IT IS UNLAWFUL TO PASS A STOPPED SCHOOL BUS PICKING UP CHILDREN. Please be mindful of this when you are driving throughout the neighborhood streets.
For Sale Signs
For Sale Signs are to be posted only on the property being sold. Homeowners are requested to inform their realtor that no open house or lead signs are to be posted in common areas or on other homeowner properties. Due to the large number of homes being sold in our community; the number of signs not being removed contributes to an unsightly neighborhood. Additionally, the grounds crew cannot effectively landscape the area due to the signs.
